The American Board of Bariatric Medicine is a certification board for physicians focused on the medical management of obesity.

Our areas of emphasis are:
  • Diet
  • Exercise
  • Behavioral Modification
  • Pharmacotherapy
 
There are three steps involved in the certification process.
  1. Application
  2. 300 Question Written Exam
  3. Onsite Patient Care Review

The American Board of Bariatric Medicine is now also offering a Certificate of Advanced Training in Bariatric Medicine to qualified Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants. Physicians that are not practicing medicine in the United States, Canada or a U.S. territory may also qualify for the Certificate of Advanced Training in Bariatric Medicine.

There are two steps involved in the Advanced Training certification process.
  1. Application
  2. 300 Question Written Exam
