Overview
ABBM review courses are designed to aid physicians in preparing for board certification in bariatric medicine, including the annual ABBM certification examinations.

Please note: The ABBM Review Course is only held once a year and is highly recommended for preparing for the ABBM Certification Exam. While this course cannot provide you with all of the information you need to know about treating obese patients and passing the board exam, we will cover all of the areas that are covered by the exam to provide participants a foundation for preparing for the written and oral exams. A course syllabus, a list of additional reference material and a set of audio recordings are included in the cost of registration for the review course.

Objectives

  1. Assist in the study and review of the basic principles of bariatric medicine.
  2. Assist physicians in their preparation for the American Board of Bariatric Medicine written and oral certification examinations.
  3. Provide a quick overview of bariatric medicine and the key elements required to adhere to the ASBP Bariatric Practice Guidelines.

Who Should Attend
Physicians who see obese patients in their practice and seek board certification in bariatric medicine.

Accreditation
The American Society of Bariatric Physicians is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The American Society of Bariatric Physicians designates this educational activity for a maximum of 11.75 hours in category 1 credit towards the AMA Physician’s Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent in the education activity. The program is eligible for AOA-CME credits under Category 2-A for 9 credit hours.
